During our Network Patient Representative (NPR) call this month, NPRs on the call shared a few ideas on what they are doing to stay connected despite social distancing restrictions.

  • Fred Barnhouse, NPR at Mercy Medical Center Dialysis-Mercy Plaza in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, has been interviewing other patients and sharing their stories in their clinic’s newsletter.
  • Dawn Bates, NPR at Tri-State Dialysis in Dubuque, Iowa, set up a conference call for their monthly support group.
  • Sherry McCormick, NPR at FMC- Sikeston in Sikeston, Missouri, shared a picture of what she is doing to stay active and encourage home dialysis.

Sherry McCormick is pictured with one of her grandsons and biggest fan. In order to keep active and avoid the gym, Sherry’s son helped create this workout space just for her. Sherry wants to encourage everyone to consider home dialysis and the benefits you can get from doing home hemo or peritoneal dialysis at home.

Please reach out and let us know how you are connecting with patients during COVID-19.

If you have something you’d like to share about what’s happening at your dialysis clinic, please reach out by email or phone to , Patient Services Manager or submit a report.
