Take 5 To Tune In
Are you looking for a fun and simple way to improve patient satisfaction with staff? “Take 5 to Tune In” was developed as a strategy to “formalize” one-to-one patient and staff conversations not related to dialysis. Staff uses “talking control” to facilitate the conversation and keeping it focused on the patient. This provides an opportunity for staff to have focused (uninterrupted) time to sit down with patients while they are receiving their hemodialysis treatment in-center just to get to know more about them as an individual. Patients and staff who have participated have shared that they enjoyed the sessions and it improved patient responses to three questions related to staff interactions. Patients reported that staff spent enough time with them; listened to them; and felt like staff cared about them as a person more after the “Take 5 to Tune In” strategy was used.
